Thomson Reuters East India Docks, London
The recently completed Thomson Reuters Dockland’s Technical Centre is a state of the art facility at East India Docks, London. Working with our client KeyClad, Caice designed & installed a louvre system to screen generator and chiller plant equipment from view.
Caice engineers developed a flexible supporting system for the louvre blades. This smoothed out undulations in the surface of the main concrete structure of the building. It was also vital that access to the generators was maintained to enable ongoing maintenance, so removable sections were incorporated within the screen’s design to allow easy access whenever necessary.
Featuring over 50 miles of louvre blades with a surface area totalling 2000m2, the completed installation offers a flat continuous line appearance. The end result is an impressive architectural feature which is also one of the largest louvre screens in the capital – go and take a look if you are passing!
