New roles for three highly experienced Caice colleagues
From 28 February 2023 Duncan Powell will be Sales Director of Caice Acoustic Air Movement Ltd, stepping into the shoes of his long-term mentor, Dave Clough, who will become Sales Associate working part-time. At the same time, Andrew Dean moves from Standard Products Estimating Director to Business Developer working part-time.
Everyone can see an exciting future ahead
Sales Director, Duncan Powell tells us that he is excited about the future and the major part of his new role will be to invest as much time as possible in his thirteen-strong sales team, so they benefit from his experience. Just like his role model for the last decade.
Supportive culture and careful succession planning
The culture within Caice is always very supportive and the way that succession planning is carefully implemented over years ensures that transitions are well-managed for everyone involved. Not least for the clients who rely on the company to be there for them in the long term.

More marketing and developing the re-seller channel
New responsibilities for Dave Clough
Becoming Sales Associate means that Dave Clough steps aside as a board director but remains a shareholder. He will still be busy and responsible for marketing, for the development of the re-seller channel and for providing support for Duncan Powell and his sales team. Which sounds like a full time job to us.

He tells us he has enjoyed 23 rewarding years at Caice and in that time his greatest pleasures have been working with great colleagues and customers, many of whom have become good friends, and being deeply involved in a dynamic and ever-growing business.
Going forward he will still be very active, remaining a shareholder of the company although stepping aside as a board director from 28 February 2023.

These three remarkable individuals all share one thing with each other and with seven more in Caice. Each of them has worked for more than 20 years for the company. Achieving more than two cricket centuries between them. They all want to help to make Caice a success for many more pioneering years to come.

Joining as a trainee estimator straight from school in 2001, Duncan Powell was born and raised in Woodley, a leafy part of Reading. He still lives a stones throw from the Head Office with his wife and two girls.
For more than two decades he has worked his way throughout the company via the design and contracting departments, and acquiring considerable knowledge of the product ranges. Not realising in the early part of his career that he would be happiest when meeting people, being on the road and visiting different sites around the UK. So landing a role in sales in 2012 was a turning point and soon he was promoted to Sales Manager, then Associate Sales Director and on to Sales Director from 28 February 2023.
Dave Clough has been Powell’s mentor for more than a decade, but the pair have worked particularly closely together over the last couple of years to reach this handover point as Clough’s plan was to gradually reduce his hours.
After an Engineering Apprenticeship Dave Clough travelled around Europe, returned to the UK and joined an acoustics company where he and Andrew Dean originally met Martyn Cashmore and Ken Amott, who went on to setup Caice. Shortly afterwards he joined them as a Sales Manager. Promotion to Associate Sales Director and then to Sales Director followed.
He has extensive sales experience and really enjoys the psychology of decision making by understanding why people do what they do. Then helping them to achieve it, whether they are clients or colleagues.
Born and bred in the Yorkshire Dales, Andrew joined Caice as Area Sales Manager to establish Caice in the North of England working from a home office in the days of ISDN link ups. He progressed through Associate Sales Director, Northern Region Director and finally to Standard Products Estimating Director. The Skipton office now has an eleven-strong team comprising of sales, estimating and contracts management operating remotely on super-fast fibre optic broadband…how things have evolved and grown!

Andrew will spend his extra spare time on a major building project at home, as well as much more competitive motorcycle trials riding and travelling abroad and across the UK.
