Small Caice Acoustic Louvre Enclosure at Imperial War Museum, Duxford
Design, manufacture and installation of a small and discreet noise reducing enclosure with access for maintenance of four heat pumps on behalf of Blue Flame, part of the Galway Group.
More clearance for maintenance of heat pumps needed
Darrel Laughlin, Contracts Manager at Blue Flame in Colchester needed to acoustically enclose four heat pumps at the Imperial War Museum at Duxford on an existing concrete slab.
We submitted and won the tender for our proposal for the design, manufacture, delivery and installation of an Acoustic Louvre Enclosure based on our client’s drawings.
However, our site survey revealed that there was not enough maintenance clearance between the heat pump units to the rear of our Louvre Screen. The only way forward was to redesign the original proposal, by enlarging the slab and enclosure to satisfy the new requirements.
Having received approval, we then installed our Acoustic Louvre Enclosure, doors and all associated steelwork/purlins with no further issues. Resulting in a great success and a delighted client.
Overcoming the challenge
We overcame the specific difficulties to this site and carefully managed this project all the way from site survey, through the design stages to installation.
