Caice 3,000m2 Weather Louvre screen for NTT DATA, Hemel Hempstead 4 Data Centre
Flynn Management & Contractors asked Caice to design and install a 3,000m2 weather louvre screening system for NTT DATA to hide the building, plant and compound at their Hemel Hempstead 4 Data Centre, which contains 4,800m2 of server space and a maximum IT load of 12MW.
Inverted weather louvre blades provide the ideal screening solution
Because the primary line of sight of the data centre is from ground level, the louvre blades were inverted upside down to create the desired visual barrier, maintain the clean aesthetic look and to prevent people from seeing any of the plant, building or compound through the screen.
Flynn Management & Contractors delivers sustainable critical environments internationally for global data centre clients like NTT DATA , which is one of the top ten global IT services providers, operating in over 50 countries.
A smooth and successful screening project
Benjamin Hurley, Architectural Project Manager at Caice said that, “One of the biggest challenges was related to limited access internally towards the final phases of the project, completion was achieved by utilising small 1 man lifts before the project was successfully handed over.” He went on to add that, “regular and clear communication with his clients helped everything run smoothly.”
