Independent design consultancy, Chapman BDSP, asked us to help them solve an acoustic challenge within their new and design led, office fit out in the City of London.
Large open plan office space with exposed services
As specialists in building services engineering and environmental design, their proposal was for a large open plan office with exposed services and hard floors. Meaning there were few materials to absorb sounds internally and so they needed Fan Coil Units that were quiet, efficient and aesthetically pleasing.
Advanced acoustic modelling software selects correct Fan Coil Units
The solution was to use our integral attenuation and advanced acoustic modelling calculation software to accurately select Caice Fan Coil Units which could maintain the thermal requirements and the project NR criteria under the project specific conditions.
Caice Fan Coil Unit noise levels proven in acoustic laboratory
Chapman BDSP then attended a witness test at our laboratory for the Caice specified FCUs and reviewed the results so they could be confident that the units would perform as predicted. They were also reassured that the installation of the FCUs would maintain the project criteria.
